Summary: Communication published by the European Commission on 1 July 2020, setting out a number of initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of young people in the framework of the Commission's recovery strategy from the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Further information: The Communication works as an umbrella document bringing into context the following two proposals for Council Recommendations:
These initiatives add to a renewed impetus for apprenticeships, creation and financing for youth employment. The actions tie in with the European Recovery Plan and rely on the Member States in the way they prioritise investments. The Communication also brings in digital and green transitions as essential elements of youth employment policies, implements the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR) and supports the New Industrial Strategy. |
