The report examines the work of the UK space sector, which employs 28,900 people and contributes £9.1 billion a year to the UK economy, with ambitions to increase annual turnover to £40 billion by 2030.

The Committee also welcomes new commitments made by the Government to the European Space Agency (ESA), securing good value for money in terms of industrial return and the ability to participate in impressive science missions. However, the report urges the Government to develop the relationship further and increase the number of UK nationals in senior positions at the ESA by extending support to UK candidates for future director-level positions.
