The fact is, content DOES reach the viewer. Countless moving images are bombarding the inhabitants of our planet 24 hours a day, transported via the numerous channels of communication available. Whether one chooses to look at the commercial interests at stake or the ideological considerations of freedom of expression and information, one thing remains clear: the process of producing and broadcasting the moving image is surrounded by a complex and often contradictory legal framework. The European Audiovisual Observatory examines 4 different aspects of the legal framework surrounding the production and broadcast of moving images in its latest publication:

Topics covered include: The Regulation of Minority Language Broadcasting; Sport as Reflected in European Media Law; The Protection of Cinematographic Heritage in Europe; The Legal Protection of Broadcast Signals
