The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) launched on 20 January 2016 an online source of information on the chemicals manufactured and imported in Europe. It covers their hazardous properties, classification and labelling, and information on how to use them safely. This was seen as a valuable resource for advancing the safe use of chemicals and for the replacement of the most hazardous ones by safer alternatives. The website is structured in three layers: infocard, brief profile and detailed source data. |
