The European Defence Agency (EDA) launched the European Defence Standards Reference System (EDSTAR) in January 2012. It is the successor of the European Handbook for Defence Procurement (EHDP). EDSTAR is aimed at project teams in national governmental procurement authorities, as well as project teams in industry. It contains references to 'Best practice' standards and 'standard-like' specifications. The 'Best practice' standards are standards which have been selected by industry and governmental organisations to be the best applicable standards for defence purposes. |
