Wales switches to ‘opt-out’ system of organ donation

Wales became the first nation in the United Kingdom to introduce a new system to increase the number of organ donors. From 1 December 2015, adults were regarded as having consented to organ donation unless they have opted out.

Welsh Health Minister Mark Drakeford called it a 'ground-breaking step which will save lives'.
