Wales and the EU Referendum. Estimating Wales’ Net Contribution to the European Union

Cardiff University’s Wales Governance Centre published a report called 'Wales and the EU Referendum: Estimating Wales’ Net Contribution to the European Union' on the 24 May 2016. The report showed that Wales received £245 million more from the European Union than it paid in. The overall net benefit to Wales was around £79 per head in 2014. The analysis indicated that Wales’ position in terms of its net contribution to the EU differed substantially from that of the rest of the UK.

The report was published in conjunction with the UK in a Changing Europe initiative
