Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva travelled to Chile on 9 March 2010 to visit areas affected by the recent earthquake and follow the work of European humanitarian and civil protection experts on the ground.

She also represented the European Commission at the Chilean Presidential Hand-over in Valparaiso on 11 March.
