US increases the pressure on EU to maintain China’s arms embargo

In the run up to the Asia-Europe Meeting in Vietnam on 8-9 October 2004, the European Union has been urged by the United States to maintain the arms embargo on China. The EU was expected to face intense lobbying by the Chinese Government to lift the sanction.
