Commission officials are hard at work preparing a thoughtful answer to a written question posed by Socialist MEP Joe Wilson, who is convinced that we are not alone.

“Does the Commission acknowledge that European airspace has been penetrated on several occasions by unidentified craft whose performance characteristics such as flight and manoeuvrability far exceed state-of-the-art aircraft design?” he asks. “Does the Commission acknowledge that the extra-terrestrial hypothesis is the most likely explanation?”

Come on then, you lot, give us an answer: yes or no?
