Ukraine’s Constitutional Court ruled on the 8 April 2010 that legislative amendments, which allowed the formation of a governing coalition loyal to the newly-elected president in March 2010, were legal. The court ignored appeals from oppositionists and legal experts who accused Viktor Yanukovich of using 'unconstitutional' means to build up his parliament majority.
