UK Liberal Democrat, Chris Huhne, claims that figures obtained by him from the European Commission, showing that the UK's share of foreign investment has fallen from 27% in 1998 to 7% in 2002, demonstrate the cost of staying out of the euro. The figures apparently show that the two other Member States to remain outside the eurozone, Sweden and Denmark, have also seen a slump in inward investment.
