UK seeks tax deal on secret accounts

During 2009 Liechtenstein agreed to ease its bank secrecy rules amid unprecedented international pressure on tax havens. Following on from this an agreement was signed between Liechtenstein and UK tax authorities on the 11 August 2009 under which about 5,000 British investors with an estimated £2bn to £3bn in secret Liechtenstein bank accounts will be asked to come clean to HM Revenue and Customs.
