Turkey promises probe into police break-up of rally

Alleged police brutality against women demonstrators at a rally in Ankara on 6 March 2005 has overshadowed a visit to the country by Olli Rehn, European Commissioner for Enlargement. Mr Rehn must assess progress in Turkey's preparations for accession talks with the EU, due to take place in October 2005.
