Trouble amid plenty in emerging Africa

David Milliband was the British foreign minister from 2007-2010, and headed the International Rescue Committee in 2014.

He stated in an article in EurActiv from the 14 August 2014 that the ‘Africa Rising’ narrative of economic success had to be tempered with appreciation of the costs imposed by a conflict belt stretching from Mali to Somalia and the consequent need for sustained humanitarian aid.
