The North Atlantic Council (NAC), Nato's decision making body, authorised on 15 August 2001 the immediate deployment to the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia of the Headquarters of Task Force Harvest (TFH), as well as communications assets and other mission-essential elements as a first stage of Operation Essential Harvest.
