Transport chief calls for jet fuel tax on flights within Union

Article reports on the appearance on 29 September 2004 before Members of the European Parliament by Jacques Barrot, incoming European Commissioner for Transport, and Stavros Dimas, incoming Commissioner for the Environment. Two weeks of hearings began on 27 September 2004 at which MEPs were able to question each of the incoming European Commissioners appointed by José Manuel Barroso, the next President of the European Commission.
