Trade talks falter as France blocks farm subsidy deal

On 13 November 2001, the last day of the WTO Ministerial Meeting in Doha, the launch of a global trade round was in doubt after France refused to drop its opposition to the proposed agenda for negotiations on agriculture. Progress was also obstructed by the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries and India.
