Three commissioners to act as Ashton’s deputies

Article reports that three European Commissioners, Štefan Füle, the Czech Commissioner for Enlargement, Andris Piebalgs, his Latvian colleague responsible for development, and Kristalina Georgieva, the Bulgarian Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid, will all assist Catherine Ashton, the new High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. This is aimed at spreading the very intense workload around. National foreign ministers are also said to be able to assist the High Representative (HR). The EEAS is also said to need a Secretary General to help the HR.
