Thorny issues at EU foreign talks

Preview of the informal General Affairs and External Relations Council, Lake Garda, 5-6 September 2003. The informal meeting of the European Union Ministers of Foreign Affairs (commonly called “Gymnich” after the place where the first of these meetings took place) is a traditional occasion for exchanging views on important issues concerning the Union's activities, in particular in the sector of institutional reforms and treaty modifications as well as in that of European Union foreign policy.
