Summary:

This paper presents an analysis of the long run supply side effects of selected cohesion fund projects. These projects change the economic infrastructure of regions, and thereby change the attractiveness of these regions as a base for investment and production. We seek to answer the following questions. If we know how a project changes important characteristics of a regions' infrastructure, then how does this affect the attractiveness of the region as a location for economic activity? What are the consequent changes in the location of industry, and how do these changes in activity impact on wage levels and real income in different regions and in aggregate?
