Continuation of a series of eight meetings, hosted by the newly established Sub-Committee on the Referendum on the Intergovernmental Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union, which were held on 3-5 April 2012. The morning session heard the views of John Bryan, Irish Farmers Association (IFA); Mark Fielding, Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association, (ISME); Brendan Bruen, Financial Services Ireland (FSI); Patricia Callan, Small Firms Association (SFA); and Brendan Butler, Irish Business and Employers Confederation, (IBEC). The afternoon session heard the views of Brendan Halligan, Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA); Bríd O’Brien, Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed and Noelle O’Connell, European Movement Ireland. The third session of the day was addressed by Declan Ganley of the Libertas Institute; Councillor Andrew Muir, vice-chair of the Alliance Party; and Roderic O’Gorman, chairman of the Green Party. |
