The European Parliament's environment committee called for a full and immediate EU-wide ban on ivory and rhinoceros horn trade, and urged the European Union to come up with sanctions against wildlife trafficking.

The report approved by the committee set out the parliament's response to an EU action plan presented by the European Commission. It was endorsed by the Parliament's plenary session on 24 November.
