Abstract:

This work is published on behalf of the International Society of Family Law, and provides information on current developments in family law throughout the world. The 2004 edition covers 27 countries and for the first time each article is accompanied by an abstract in French.

The survey opens with a review of developments in three areas - the Hague Conference on Private International Law, the Council of Europe and the United Nations, with brief notes on developments in the European Union. The remaining articles relate to developments in family law in various countries around the world. European Member States featured in this edition include the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Sweden. There are also contributions from Croatia and Ukraine.

The work will interest scholars and practitioners engaged in International Family Law.
