The impact of the global economic crisis on illegal migration to the EU

The European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union (Frontex), on 17 September 2009, released a risk analysis report, compiled in close cooperation between Frontex, the EU Joint Sit Center, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). The report looks at the possible connection between the impact of the economic crisis and the decrease in the migratory pressure on the external borders of the European Union.
