The aim of this Study is to provide an overview of the most characteristic and common types of non-standard contracts in the 27 EU Member States based on existing research, statistics and a thorough labour market analysis. The impact of rapidly changing developments in the labour market and work organisation on labour law and collective agreements has been addressed, as well as the concept of 'Flexicurity' by analysing the impact of non-standard contracts on the growing gap between the so-called ''outsiders' and 'insiders' of the labour market. Atyplical employment relations were demonstrated by three national case studies focusing on flexibility and security in The Netherlands, self-employment in Poland and fixed-term work in Spain.
