The first phase of work of the National Forum on Europe, October 2001 to January 2002. Chairman’s report

The Irish Prime Minister, Bertie Ahern, announced the establishment of the National Forum on Europe on 18 October 2001. The purpose of the Forum was, firstly, to facilitate a broad discussion of issues relevant to Ireland's membership of an enlarging Union and, secondly, to consider the range of topics arising in the context of the debate on the Future of Europe.
