The European Union (EU) Delegation to Egypt together with the EU- funded project MED-ENEC conducted, in Le Cairo from the 30 November 2016 to the 2 December 2016 the Sustainable Built Environment (SBE16) Conference. This EU – MED-ENEC event offers an opportunity to share best practices, discuss cooperation across the region, and in short to insist on the importance to sustain a regional energy efficiency community as well as embark on the appreciation to the Egyptian Government and other Stakeholders hosting the EU – MED-ENEC project over the past seven years. The EU-funded MED-ENEC project has provided technical support to Egypt and other countries in the South MENA region focusing on promoting energy efficiency. During the EU – MED-ENEC session the speakers provided an overview about the support activities of the EU-MED-ENEC projects during last few years and pointed out possible next steps to be taken in order to ensure the sustainable continuity of respective actions consumption increase in future and contributing to the word wide reduction of CO2 emissions. |
