The European Investment Bank has over 50 years’ experience supporting EU development policies in Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific, with over €17bn invested in more than 1,300 projects.

In the coming years the Bank will have a renewed focus on private sector development, recognised as a key driver of sustainable growth. The Bank will gradually increase its lending activity in the region, benefiting in particular from a dedicated “Impact Financing Envelope”, for riskier operations but with higher development impact. This will enable it to reach beyond its traditional areas of activity to provide new and innovative instruments.
