Based on European Union Labour Force Survey data, this publication aims to give a deep analysis of the employment of older workers. The employment rate of people aged 55-64 nevertheless stood at 42.5% in 2005 in the EU-25, up from 36.6% in 2000. One fifth of this rise is explained by changes in the population structure by age during the period. |
