The economic impact of enlargement

Enlargement is the most important task for the European Union in the years ahead and will have far reaching implications for all aspects of the European Union, be they political, institutional, economic, budgetary or social. The current study focuses on the economic aspects of the enlargement to include the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, and seeks to analyse its impact on the Union and its current members (EU -15) as well as on the applicant countries.
