At a meeting of EU justice and home affairs ministers this week, the UK continued to block efforts to entrust Europol to the European Court of Justice's supervision. British Home Affairs Minister Michael Howard argued that a unitary legal interpretation of the convention was “neither necessary nor appropriate”.
