Diskma, the EU producers' lobby, filed a complaint with the Commission showing that the three countries' market share in the EU had collapsed to 4&percent; in 1994 from 20&percent; two years earlier. Hong Kong, one of the alleged front countries in the diskette diversion, warned the EU that its anti-circumvention action is incompatible with World Trade Organisation rules. While Hong Kong diskette exports attract duties of up to 27.4&percent;, duties on Chinese diskettes are 32.7&percent;. A trade official warned that Hong Kong would “liaise with other affected parties for coordinated action”. |
