Tackling terror in Africa: what local roles for insurgency groups?

This Africa Policy Brief was based on the book Time for a new approach on terror in Africa?, published by the Egmont Institute in June 2014. In line with the conclusions of the book, this policy brief aimed at tackling dominant perspectives on insurgency groups in Africa. It argued for a more nuanced understanding of these groups, which also looked into their roles in local societies.
