Syriza leader Alexis Tsipras prepares for power

EurActiv reported in November 2014 on Alexis Tsipras's visits to Germany and Italy to meet with European leaders. According to the website, the leader of Greece's far-left Syriza party was softening his confrontational tone with Greece's international lenders at the same time as he drafted an agenda for the first 100 days of a future government.

Syriza won the European elections in May 2014 and since then polls showed the party scoring better than any other, leading by a margin of between 4 and 11 points over Prime Minister Antonis Samaras's conservatives.
