Sweden sees explosion in beggars from EU countries

A survey by Swedish broadcaster SVT showed in April 2015 the number of migrants from the European Union begging in Sweden had doubled in one year, primarily from Bulgaria and Romania.

Later in the year, the country's equality minister Åsa Regné asked Swedes not to give money directly to street beggars but to donate it to charities.
