Sustainable use of forests is a must for halting biodiversity loss

The Executive Director of the European Environment Agency, Jacqueline McGlade, on 14 April 2008, warned EU ministers of increasing demands on Europe's forest resources. Forests will be one of the key themes in the upcoming international conference on biodiversity, namely the 9th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 9) to the Convention on Biological Diversity, which will be held on 19–30 May 2008 in Bonn, Germany.
