EADS revealed 3 October 2006 the depth of the crisis in the Airbus A380 production programme when it announced a €4.8bn profit warning and warned of yet another year's delay in early deliveries of the world's biggest passenger jet. The profit warning was more than double the €2bn figure announced less than four months ago and follows an emergency review of the A380 programme begun in July 2006 following the dismissal of several top executives at both Airbus and EADS, the Franco-German parent company.
