Summary of the European Constitution

The National Forum on Europe launched a summary of the draft Constitutional Treaty for Europe in September 2003. This revised edition takes into account the changes to the text of the draft Constitutional Treaty that emerged from the Intergovernmental Conference (IGC) on 18 June 2004. It includes a glossary of terms which appear in the European Constitution.

The Irish Government announced, on 9 April 2009, that it had decided to close the National Forum on Europe. The purpose of the Forum, which was launched in October 2001, had been to promote public debate on the EU, its enlargement, its future and Ireland's place in it.
