Suez and GdF offer a deal to gain approval of Brussels

Suez and Gaz de France have told the European Commission they are ready to spin off a significant part of their gas business in Belgium as part of a package designed to win regulatory approval for their planned merger. The lion's share of the concessions offered by the two groups focus on the Belgian energy market, where the deal would have the biggest impact on competition.
