Statement: Re-opening of the US market for imports of EU beef from January 2015 – Statement by EU Health Commissioner Vytenis Andriukaitis, Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström and Agriculture and Rural Development Commissioner Phil Hogan

The European Commission welcomed on the 5 January 2015 the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) announcement that the US would progressively re-open its market to exports of beef from the European Union, starting with the Republic of Ireland.
