Statement on decision to deliver two death sentences in Belarus

The spokesperson highlighted that Belarus was the only country in Europe still applying capital punishment in Europe and that its continued application went counter to the country's stated willingness to engage with the international community.

A spokesperson of the European External Action Service (EEAS) condemned on 21 July 2017 the decision by Belarusian authorities to hand down two death sentences to Ihar Hershankow and Syamyon Berazhny.
