The UK Minister for Floods Recovery, John Healey, met Danuta Hübner, European Commissioner for regional policy, in Brussels on 31 October 2007, to discuss the UK Government's application to the EU Solidarity Fund, following the flooding which occurred in Britain during the summer of 2007. The Commissioner confirmed that she is supporting the UK's application and will recommend that the UK receives around 160 million Euro. |
