On 25 February 2014, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union backed the European Commission’s proposal to strengthen the rules for Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS). The aim of these new rules is to significantly increase the level of protection enjoyed by UCITS investors.
