Statement by the HRVP Federica Mogherini on the launch of ballistic missiles by the DPRK

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) launched on 6 March 2017 several ballistic missiles in utter disregard of multiple UN Security Council Resolutions, including the latest one, 2321 of 30 November 2016. These actions are illegal and further raise tensions in the region and beyond to the detriment of all.

The DPRK must halt all launches using ballistic missile technology and abandon its ballistic missile programmes in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner, as required by the UN Security Council.
