Statement by the High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini and Commissioner Christos Stylianides on World Humanitarian Day 2016

On the 19 August 2016, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy / Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, and the Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides, released a statement on the occasion of the World Humanitarian Day. The World Humanitarian Day marks the anniversary of the 2003 bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq, when 22 humanitarian workers lost their lives.
