On 10 February 2016 President of the European Council Donald Tusk gave a speech at the Committee of the Regions.

Mr Tusk emphasised the role the regions play in Europe's political life, especially in confronting such challenges as migratory crisis and Schengen preservation. He also referred to the BREXIT negotiations.
