Start date of EU regime to recycle electrical goods postponed again

The UK Government announced on 15 December 2005 another delay in implementing regulations that will compel manufacturers and retailers to recycle electrical goods. According to Ministers, businesses needed more time to get the implementation of the European law right. The UK failed to meet the August 2004 deadline for implementing the Directive, and the EU has already instigated legal action as a result.
