Stagiaires get into the groove

Like the Hennes & Mauritz adverts of scantily-clad models, national stagiaire parties are a staple of the bleak winter months for the next generation of EU officials. This year's season kicked off last Friday with a Greek toga party, followed the day after by the UK national shindig. Ditching the traditional James Bond theme, British interns invited party-goers to “travel back in time to the shagadelic 60s and get into the groove Austin Powers style”. A double-decker red bus whisked stagiaires off to the outskirts of Brussels, where the international man of mystery's plea to “behave” was apparently disregarded for the night.
