Staff ‘told to sign for longer week’

Preview of a European Commission commissioned report on the operation of the 'opt-out clause' to the EU Working Time Directive in the UK. The report was written by Catherine Barnard and two colleagues from Cambridge University and found that some UK employees are being asked to sign a clause giving up their right to work a maximum of 48 hours a week.
